The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, following his return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor, the leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, officially announced his departure from the PDP on March 3, 2025, before confirming his return to the APC at a press conference in Lagos on Monday. He cited internal party conflicts, a lack of discipline, and betrayal by PDP leaders as reasons for his decision. His move comes after years of political realignments, having originally been a member of the APC before crossing over to the PDP.

Reacting to the defection, Lagos PDP Deputy Chairman Tai Benedict accused Jandor of being an APC agent planted to destabilize the opposition.

“He was never our own. He was an agent sent to our party to destroy it,” Benedict alleged in an interview on Monday. He further claimed that Jandor’s presence in the PDP had weakened the party’s chances in the 2023 election.

Jandor’s return to the APC raises questions about the future of opposition politics in Lagos. His Lagos4Lagos Movement had been a rallying point for PDP supporters seeking to challenge APC dominance in the state. With his defection, political analysts predict further restructuring within the Lagos PDP as it seeks to recover from internal divisions.

The APC, meanwhile, has welcomed Jandor back, hailing his return as a boost to the party’s strength in Lagos.
