Corps members in Oyo State have expressed relief and excitement over the payment of their new N77,000 monthly allowance, describing it as a vital support to navigate the harsh economic realities in the country.
Speaking to Adamimogo 105.1 FM, several corps members shared how the increased allowance more than double their previous N33,000 will significantly ease their financial burdens.
Others apprised that a large portion of the new payment would go toward food expenses, as the cost of basic items continues to soar.
One corps member, identified as James, urged those in the economic sector not to exploit or envy corps members due to the increase, stressing that the allowance merely helps them meet rising living costs.
The payment of the revised allowance began 24 hours ago, following the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of corps members nationwide.
