A Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Father Chinenye Oluoma, has criticized Christians who invoke “Holy Ghost fire” in their prayers, describing them as followers of the antichrist.

In a video shared on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, Oluoma argued that such prayers do not reflect the spirit of Christ but rather the spirit of the antichrist. According to him, there is no biblical basis for using “Holy Ghost fire” during deliverance, maintaining that true deliverance is only achieved through the name of Jesus Christ.

“Anybody who prays ‘Holy Ghost fire’ against their enemies does not have the Spirit of God,” Oluoma stated. “If you pray that way, you are operating under the spirit of the antichrist. Many Christians today are antichrists without realizing it.”

He further condemned the practice of calling down “Holy Ghost fire” on perceived enemies, whether family members or others, urging Christians to embrace the true essence of deliverance through Christ’s name.

The cleric’s remarks have sparked discussions on prayer practices and the interpretation of spiritual authority in Christian teachings.
