The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the elimination of a notorious terrorist leader, Bello Kaura, in a precision airstrike by troops of Operation Fasin Yamma.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, Kaura was among scores of terrorists neutralised between April 10 and 16, 2025, during a series of coordinated military operations across Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger, Kwara states, and the Federal Capital Territory.
Kangye disclosed that the operations, carried out in collaboration with other security agencies and hybrid forces, involved fierce engagements that led to the death of several insurgents, the arrest of suspects, and the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
