More than 500 athletes are expected to participate in the 2025 edition of the Calabar Marathon, a 24km race scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 19.

The Managing Director of the Cross River State Tourism Bureau, Prince Ekpenyong Ojoi, made the announcement during a press briefing in Calabar on Wednesday.

He revealed that the race will begin at 6:00 a.m. from Millennium Park, follow the 12km Carnival Calabar route twice, and conclude at the Marina Resort.

Ojoi said the top male and female runners will each win a star prize of N1 million, while the first and second runners-up in both categories will receive N500,000 and N300,000 respectively.

Now in its third edition since its debut in 2022, the Calabar Marathon has grown in reputation and continues to attract elite runners from across Nigeria.
