The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo wants members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to put the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 above their personal political aspirations.

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme on Monday, Keyamo stressed that President Tinubu needs a second term to consolidate and complete the governance reforms he has initiated.

“Every single APC member in Nigeria today should focus on the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, irrespective of personal interests,” Keyamo said. “It would be tragic for another government to halt these reforms midway, just as we’ve seen with previous administrations where policies were left incomplete.”

Keyamo’s remarks come in the wake of the high-profile defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, to the APC — a move Keyamo described as a major boost for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Demonstrating his commitment, Keyamo announced that he had ceded the APC’s leadership in Delta State to Governor Oborevwori, stating that personal sacrifice was necessary to strengthen the party’s structure.

“Whether it affects me politically is irrelevant. What matters is that the APC grows stronger for President Tinubu’s re-election,” he said. “Delta State was one of the major funders of the PDP. Winning Delta is a huge strategic advantage for the APC.”

Keyamo reiterated that party unity and loyalty to the president’s vision must remain the priority, warning that political distractions could undermine the progress achieved so far.
