There are feelers that The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is set to become the adopted political platform for the fast-growing anti-Tinubu coalition.

The coalition ahead of 2027 elections, ccomprising former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, and ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers)—has reportedly settled on the ADC as its unified vehicle for political opposition.

Multiple credible sources revealed that former Senate President, David Mark, has agreed to serve as the Interim National Chairman of the party, giving the alliance an experienced hand at the helm.

While discussions are still ongoing regarding key leadership positions, sources confirmed that the group is close to reaching a consensus on the National Secretary role after former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola and Senator Ben Obi both turned down the offer.

“The goal is to present a viable and unified political alternative, and everyone is working towards that. David Mark has accepted to lead the charge,” one insider disclosed.

An official unveiling of the rebranded ADC is expected later in the week.
