Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace, has pledged to evacuate Nigerian girls trafficked to Ivory Coast free of charge, describing the situation as a heartbreaking display of human suffering.
In a statement released Saturday, Onyema condemned human trafficking as “inhumane, callous and ungodly,” stressing the need for national unity in combating the scourge.
“We should discourage trafficking of any kind. It is inhumane and a good example of man’s inhumanity to man,” Onyema said. “We in Air Peace are ready to bring our fellow citizens back home free of charge.”
His offer follows a viral video shared by social media activist VeryDarkMan, which showed underage Nigerian girls claiming they were lured into sex slavery in Ivory Coast under the guise of better opportunities.
