The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has dismissed reports suggesting he is involved in a royal supremacy tussle with another traditional ruler.
In a statement released by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, in Ibadan on Tuesday, Oba Owoade urged the public to ignore the viral video fueling the rumour, which he described as malicious and unfounded.
“I am not in any supremacy battle with any monarch,” the Alaafin stated firmly.
He also lashed out at the video’s creator, labelling them a “pathological liar” who should be “confined to the dungeon of eternity” for spreading falsehoods.
Oba Owoade called on the public to disregard the video and its anchor, describing the content as fabricated and misleading.
