Nigeria’s sprint queen, Tobi Amusan, has stormed back into top form by winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League meet in Rabat, Morocco, clocking a season-best time of 12.24 seconds.

The 28-year-old not only clinched gold but also shattered the meet record previously held by McNeal Brianna, who set a time of 12.51 seconds. It marks a powerful return for Amusan, who earlier this year won the Velocity Fest 16 in Jamaica against a less competitive field.

Her latest triumph comes as a much-needed boost following a tough 2024 season, which ended in disappointment after she failed to qualify for the final of the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympics.

Amusan’s resurgence is tied to her fresh training regimen under Glen Mills at the Racers Track Club — the same camp that produced sprint icon Usain Bolt. With this Rabat victory, she appears poised for a stronger 2025 campaign and is once again asserting herself as a force to reckon with on the global athletics stage.
