The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims that it operates as a one-man show, insisting that the party remains inclusive and representative of Nigeria’s diverse political landscape.
According to The Vanguard, chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, addressed the issue while briefing State House correspondents after the APC’s first caucus meeting under President Bola Tinubu. The meeting, held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, brought together key party leaders to discuss the party’s direction.
Uzodimma stressed that the APC is structured to allow broad participation in decision-making, pointing to its leadership framework, which spans Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. He also noted that the presence of governors from different states at the meeting demonstrated the party’s commitment to collective governance.
“Our party is united, stronger, and fully behind the government,” Uzodimma stated. “The APC remains focused on delivering its mandate, and we must continue to celebrate our own while providing the necessary support for the administration.”
The governor dismissed concerns about internal divisions, maintaining that the party’s leadership is working in harmony to support President Tinubu’s policies.
He maintained that the APC’s constitution ensures a balance of power, preventing any single individual from dominating its affairs.
