Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has attributed the current economic challenges in Nigeria to poor electoral decisions made during the 2023 elections.
Speaking at the “Recovery Conference 2025” in Bauchi State, Suleman criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a lack of clear policies and mismanagement of the nation’s oil sector.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House, Suleman commended the governor’s leadership while pledging prayers for the state.
However, addressing journalists, he was blunt in his assessment of Nigeria’s situation. “What Nigerians are going through is partly what they deserve. Before the election, we cried out, we screamed. The man who came into leadership had no manifesto—just a sense of entitlement with his ‘it’s my turn’ mantra,” Suleman stated.
The cleric expressed concerns over the nation’s oil sector, warning that its mismanagement could take 10 to 15 years to recover from. He urged Nigerians to reflect on their choices ahead of the 2027 elections, adding, “If they’ve suffered enough by then, perhaps they’ll make better decisions.”
Suleman also described Tinubu’s administration as plagued by poor policies that have worsened the plight of citizens.
Governor Bala Mohammed echoed Suleman’s concerns, criticizing the Federal Government’s policies for lacking a clear vision and national impact.
While maintaining respect for President Tinubu, Mohammed warned that the current trajectory could lead to long-term harm for the country. “Nigerians deserve better, and I will not shy away from pointing out these shortcomings,” the governor declared, vowing to continue advocating for reforms that benefit the nation.
