The Bet9ja Foundation U-20 Women’s Football Competition 2025 continues to gain momentum in Ekiti State, with its opening round delivering thrilling matches and a surge of community support.

As the anticipation builds for matchday two, the organizing committee has expressed profound gratitude to the state government and key partners for their invaluable contributions to the tournament’s success.

The Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Athletics Sports Limited, Bayo Olanlege, who is also Bet9ja Super Agent in Ekiti State, commended the Ekiti State Government led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji for unwavering commitment to the initiative. Olanlege highlighted the state’s dedication to fostering female football development, describing it as a vital step toward empowering young women in sports.

He also reserved special praise for Dr. (Mrs.) Olusola Osetoba, the Technical Adviser on Sport Development to the Governor, for her tireless support and contributions to the competition’s success.

“The Ekiti State Government has shown exceptional leadership in supporting this tournament, and Dr. Osetoba’s relentless efforts have been instrumental in driving its impact,” Olanlege said. “We are truly grateful for their partnership.”

The former FA boss also extended his appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association and the broader football ecosystem in the state which included the Local Football Councils (LFCs), acknowledging their collaborative efforts in making the competition a significant platform for nurturing female talent.

He further expressed deep appreciation for his team of dedicated individuals who have so far played pivotal roles in the competition’s execution. From the direction of administration, Pelumi Abiara, to the operations coordinators, Mr Dayo Folowosele, Mrs, Olawunmi Alabede, Ms. Oluwaseun Popoola, and media director, Olamide Awoyinfa.

As the competition progresses, all eyes are now on Matchday Two, scheduled for Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Ijero Stadium. The upcoming fixtures promise intense action, with Ekiti Queens Feeders set to take on Alpine Dazzlers, while Golden Queens will face off against FUOYE Dazzlers Queens.

These matches are poised to be decisive, determining which teams advance to the next round and which face elimination.
