Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned to Tuesday, May 13, the hearing of contempt allegations brought against suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The judge fixed the date after being informed by the second and third defendants of an application already before the court, drawing attention to the alleged contempt by the plaintiff.
During the resumed session, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal counsel, Jibrin Okutekpa (SAN), reminded the court that the matter had been slated for hearing and that all parties had complied with the directive to file the necessary documents.
Appearances at the hearing included Charles Yoila for the first defendant, Paul Daudu (SAN) for the second defendant, Ekoh Ejembi (SAN) for the third defendant, and Valentine Offia for the fourth defendant.
The case stems from a contentious legal battle involving the suspended lawmaker and senior officials of the National Assembly, with the hearing expected to clarify the contempt claims raised in the ongoing dispute.
