Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has reignited tensions with Peter Okoye, one half of the defunct music duo P-Square, following his recent social media remarks aimed at their former manager and elder brother, Jude Okoye.
Taking to social media, Morgan recounted a painful experience with Peter in 2020. She revealed that after her emotional tell-all interview about her struggles in the music industry, she and her mother visited Peter to express gratitude for his public support. However, the meeting took an unexpected turn.
According to Morgan, Peter told her she could not challenge his brother Jude because “he is richer” and that his online support wasn’t out of genuine concern but because her situation fit a convenient narrative. “This one meeting broke me,” she said. “I had no choice but to keep calling them out online until they labeled me crazy.”
She added that although they reconnected last year and Peter apologised for his actions, she was hurt once again by his latest comments, which she believes were disparaging to her.
Meanwhile, Jude Okoye, who once managed both P-Square and Cynthia Morgan, is currently embroiled in legal trouble. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned him on multiple counts involving over $1 million in unpaid royalties from digital music distribution. The case, which has already had two hearings, is set to continue on October 10 and 17, 2025.
