Edo state government has announced that it would provide necessary assistance to victims of the fire incident in Jattu, Etsako west local government area of the state.
The state governor, Monday Okpebholo who made the announcement on Thursday expressed his condolences to those affected by the disaster describing the incident as unfortunate.
In a press statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Fred Itua, it was revealed that the fire, which occurred on January 21, 2025, destroyed shops and goods in the community.
The statement also added that the government, in collaboration with the fire service, the emergency management agency, and the local government council, will assess the extent of the damage and provide immediate relief.
