The Zamfara State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Sokoto has affirmed the election of Dauada Lawal as the governor of the state.
Former Governor of the state now state Minister of Defence Bello Matawalle is challenging the validity of the Election that produced Dauda Lawal as the executive Governor of the state.
Matawalle accused INEC of sabotage, claiming the electoral umpire failed to include the results of some ward areas which if added would have guaranteed his victory with a wide margin.
However, in a judgement today, tribunal affirmed the election of Dauada Lawal as the governor of the state with details of the judgement unavailable as at press time.
