Tech mogul Elon Musk has openly criticized former President Donald Trump’s signature tax and spending legislation, branding it a “disgusting abomination”.
The controversial bill, recently passed by the House of Representatives, features multi-trillion dollar tax breaks, increased defense spending, and provisions to expand the U.S. government’s borrowing capacity. Musk in a statement on X, condemned the sweeping package, adding, “Shame on those who voted for it.”
His outburst comes just days after he abruptly exited his cost-cutting advisory role in the administration, ending his stint after only 129 days. His team, nicknamed “Doge,” was tasked with identifying budget inefficiencies and fiscal leakages.
