Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has handed call-ups to 10 home-based players for Nigeria’s 25-man squad ahead of the 2025 Unity Cup tournament scheduled to take place in London, UK.

The Franco-Malian tactician, who recently guided Nigeria’s B team to qualification for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), is continuing his push to integrate more NPFL talents into the senior national team.

Among the notable inclusions is veteran forward Ahmed Musa of Kano Pillars, whose return marks a renewed focus on domestic-based experience. He’s joined by a strong NPFL contingent, including Remo Stars trio Junior Nduka, Sikiru Alimi, and Sodiq Ismaila; Enugu Rangers defenders Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Saviour Isaac, and Collins Ugwueze; as well as Papa Daniel Mustapha (Niger Tornadoes), Adamu Abubakar (Plateau United), and Waliu Ojetoye (Ikorodu City).

The Unity Cup, a four-nation invitational competition, will run from May 27 to 31 at the Gtech Stadium in London. Nigeria will open their campaign with a high-stakes semi-final against fierce rivals Ghana. The winner of that clash will face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the final.

Chelle’s squad signals a deliberate blend of international experience and emerging domestic talent, offering homegrown stars a rare chance to showcase their skills on a global stage.

With national pride and bragging rights on the line, all eyes will be on London as Nigeria attempts to kickstart its new football chapter under Chelle’s watch.
