In a continued effort to cushion the economic hardship faced by Nigerian workers, the Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation has announced a major palliative initiative targeted at civil servants in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan, the founder of the foundation, disclosed through his media aide, Comrade Adewumi Francis, that the ongoing cooking gas distribution programme will resume in full force on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Iye Ekiti. The free gas distribution is strictly reserved for civil servants residing in Ilejemeje and its surrounding communities.
According to the statement released in Ado Ekiti, the venue for the exercise will be GAFAT GASES NIGERIA LIMITED, located in Ireakari, Iye Ekiti. Falegan urged all eligible civil servants to turn out in large numbers and take advantage of the palliative, noting that distribution will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
He maintained that beneficiaries must present valid official identity cards as proof of their employment status. Non-civil servants have been warned to stay away from the venue, while participants are advised to bring gas cylinders that are in good working condition.
To prevent any form of disorder, the philanthropist also warned political thugs and troublemakers to steer clear of the event. He assured the public that adequate security arrangements including the presence of the army have been put in place to maintain peace and order during the distribution.
