A former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose says his recent visit to President Bola Tinubu was a personal gesture meant to encourage the president to remain steadfast in his efforts to improve the country’s fortunes.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos on Monday, Fayose said that while Nigeria’s challenges are significant, President Tinubu deserves commendation for the progress made so far.
“My visit is personal, to further encourage him to continue to do what he’s doing for Nigerians. No one is saying it is easy, but there is no miracle that can turn around things overnight,” he said.
Fayose, a well-known critic of the previous administration, added that his stance has not prevented him from recognising genuine efforts by the current government.
