Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, has been declared as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
The declaration is in recognition of the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims worldwide observe fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
In his message, the minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim faithful across the country for successfully completing the month-long fasting period.
He praised their dedication and commitment to the spiritual exercise, which according to him denotes the values of self-discipline, sacrifice, and devotion to God.
Tunji-Ojo also used the occasion to urge Muslims to uphold the virtues they cultivated during Ramadan, including self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace.
