There was a tense atmosphere in the state house of assembly on Wednesday after rivers state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was denied access to their official quarters in, Port Harcourt, where lawmakers loyal to his predecessor, FCT minister Nyesom Wike, have been holding their sittings.
Speaking to newsmen in the aftermath of the occurrence, Fubara, said he was seeking an audience with the lawmakers over the implementation of the verdict of the Supreme Court on the political affairs of the state.
He thus expressed disappointment at being locked out despite making several attempts to meet with the state’s legislative, but remained confident that a resolution will be reached.
Meanwhile, shortly after his denied access, Fubara while addressing residents of the Khana local government area of the state during the commissioning of some health facilities insisted that he is ready to re-present the 2025 appropriation bill despite being locked out.
