Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has been named the second highest-grossing Nollywood writer for 2024, alongside co-writers Collins Okoh and Akinlabi Ishola.
The trio achieved this milestone with their film Everybody Loves Jennifer, which generated a whopping N1.125 billion at the box office. The announcement was made by FilmOne Entertainment via its Instagram page, @filmoneng, on Friday.
Stephen Oluboyo claimed the top spot as the highest-grossing writer of the year, with his works Everybody Loves Jennifer, Alakada Bad and Boujee, and Aburo collectively amassing N1.38 billion.
Anthony Joseph secured the third position with Queen Lateefah, The Waiter, and Alakada Bad and Boujee, which together brought in N780 million.
Jack’ Enneth Opukeme rounded out the top four, earning N299 million with Farmer’s Bride and All’s Fair in Love.
