Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic stability, citing the consistent monthly payment of N24 billion in salaries to state and local government workers as a key factor in driving growth.
Speaking on Sunday at his Ikolaba, Ibadan residence, where he received a delegation of Muslim clerics, traditional rulers, and political office holders following the Eid-el-Fitri prayers at the Eid Ground, Agodi, Makinde emphasized that his administration’s economic policies have encouraged private sector confidence in the state.
He highlighted the increasing presence of private investors in Oyo State, attributing it to the state government’s efforts in creating a conducive business environment.
According to the governor, the administration’s focus on economic expansion is yielding tangible results, boosting employment and infrastructure development.
The visiting delegation was led by Deputy Governor Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal and included prominent figures such as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Ladoja; Senator representing Oyo South, Oloye Sharafadeen Alli; former Deputy Governor and PDP Deputy National Chairman, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja; and Professor Kamil Oloso, among others.
