Popular Nigerian media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, better known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his departure from The Honest Bunch podcast following a recent controversy involving social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM).

Nedu’s exit comes after comedian Deeone, during a podcast episode, alleged that VDM was attracted to men. In response, VDM accused Nedu of persistently inviting him to appear on the show since 2024, even claiming he was offered a car as an incentive. He further warned Nedu, through his lawyer Deji Adeyanju, against further contact, threatening to expose alleged dealings involving female celebrities.

Addressing the situation in an Instagram statement on Friday, Nedu described the accusations against him as baseless and said the growing scrutiny had taken a personal toll. “Hosting The Honest Bunch has been an incredible journey, but with it has come overwhelming antagonism and unfounded accusations that have begun to affect me personally,” he stated.

He added that stepping down was necessary for his well-being, his family, and the integrity of the podcast. “I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when they lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward,” he explained.

Nedu expressed hope that his resignation would bring an end to the controversy, allowing the podcast to continue without distractions. He thanked his supporters and promised to explore new opportunities that align with his vision for meaningful conversations.
