The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Independence Bridge (Marina bound) starting April 1 for critical maintenance and rehabilitation works.
Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, confirmed in a statement on Monday that the bridge will remain closed until the end of May 2025.
The closure will disrupt traffic flow from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.
Kesha urged motorists to plan ahead and use alternative routes to ease congestion during the repair period. She also apologized for any inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude for the public’s patience as the government works to enhance road safety and infrastructure stability.
