The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a comprehensive review of the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), following mounting public complaints and allegations of technical irregularities.

The review, scheduled for Thursday, will bring together vice-chancellors, provosts, rectors, secondary school principals, examiners, and technical experts to evaluate the conduct and outcome of the examination, which has been marred by widespread dissatisfaction from candidates and their families.

A notice obtained in Abuja by The PUNCH confirmed that JAMB initiated the review to investigate the “unusual” volume of grievances raised since the results were released last Friday. Many candidates and parents have protested, alleging technical glitches, inconsistencies, and abrupt system failures during the exam.

The panel will include representatives from key education and technology organisations such as the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), the Educational Assessment and Research Network, and top officials from tertiary institutions across the country.

“In furtherance of the commitment of the board to earn public confidence in its processes, the management of the board has approved your participation to be part of the review panel constituted to appraise the conduct of the examination with the mandate to identify challenges, if any, and proffer relevant recommendations to prevent a recurrence,” the notice stated.

The outcome of the review is expected to shape how the board addresses future examinations, especially in rebuilding public trust in its digital testing systems.
