Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has stirred debate with a bold claim that Jesus Christ detested poverty and deliberately distanced Himself from the poor during His earthly ministry.
In a sermon that has since gone viral on social media, Ibiyeomie told his congregation that, based on biblical accounts, Jesus never entered the home of a poor person—a move he interprets as divine disapproval of poverty.
“Jesus never stepped into the house of a poor man. That should tell you something. He hated poverty,” the preacher asserted, stressing that Christ’s death and resurrection were not just for salvation, but also for believers to enjoy prosperity.
According to Ibiyeomie, any Christian who continues to live in poverty after embracing Christ lacks proper spiritual understanding.
