Kemi Olunloyo, has stirred fresh public reactions by renouncing her family name and distancing herself from the family of her late father, Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of Oyo State.

The elder Olunloyo, an acclaimed mathematician and politician, passed away on Sunday, April 6, at the age of 89. However, rather than mourn publicly, the controversial media personality took a defiant stance, declaring that she no longer identifies with the Olunloyo family.

In a series of posts and videos shared across her Facebook and TikTok platforms, Kemi rejected any association with her family and stated unequivocally that she would not be accepting condolences for her father’s death.

“I am uploading video statements on my father’s death on TikTok. I am not part of the Olunloyo family anymore and told you that in 2024 that I will never return to Nigeria even if my parents died,” she said.

The late Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo served as Governor of Oyo State in the Second Republic and was revered for his intellectual brilliance and public service.
