The abducted national president of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Ojajuni, has made a desperate plea for financial assistance to secure his release from his kidnappers. Appearing visibly distressed in a video circulating on social media, he urged Nigerians especially those from Ilaje, Ondo State to contribute to the ransom payment.
Ojajuni revealed that his captors had given him a 24-hour deadline, warning that they would kill him if the ransom was not paid. His appeal has sparked concern among his supporters and the wider public, as the video shows him seated on the ground with a gunman pointing an AK-47 at him.
“Nigerians, please help me! Your donation, N100,000, N50,000, or N1,000,000, will go a long way to save my life,” Ojajuni pleaded. He also called on a person named Aderohunmu to help spread the video in an effort to raise awareness.
The circumstances surrounding his abduction remain unclear, but the video has intensified pressure on authorities to intervene swiftly.
Security agencies have yet to release an official statement regarding efforts to rescue Ojajuni, but his family and associates are reportedly working behind the scenes to gather the required funds. The emotional appeal has drawn reactions from many Nigerians, with some urging the government to take decisive action against rising insecurity.
