Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers are currently in a high-level meeting outside the chambers, raising speculation about a possible resolution to the House’s leadership crisis.

The closed-door session is being held ahead of a plenary initially scheduled for 1 p.m. Leaders of the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC), including Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, and Attorney General Lawal Pedro (SAN) are also present, signaling the meeting’s significance.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that Meranda may resign today, a move that could mark a turning point in the Assembly’s internal wrangling. Obasa arrived at the venue around 1:30 p.m. and later broke away with Meranda, Ojelabi, and the Attorney General for a separate discussion.

The situation remains fluid, with political observers closely watching whether the meeting will bring an end to the Assembly’s leadership tensions.
