The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed substandard goods worth ₦1.3 billion in Abuja.
According to the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Moji Adeyeye, represented by Festus Ukadike, who led officials of the agency to the Kuje dump site in Abuja, the items destroyed include fake and expired drugs, hospital equipment, cosmetics, food items, and several other products.
The agency also destroyed expired food items voluntarily handed over by some local and international organizations, including the World Food Programme (WFP).
