United States President Donald Trump has remained unshaken in his confidence towards his national security team following the release of additional text messages from a Signal group chat detailing the Yemen strike.
This was disclosed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday.
“What I can say definitively is what I just spoke to the president about, and he continues to have confidence in his national security team,” Leavitt told reporters in the White House briefing room.
Leavitt’s comment was in response to a reporter’s question on whether anyone would be dismissed over the Signal group chat scandal.
This comes less than 24 hours after Trump’s National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz, said he took full responsibility for inviting a reporter into a Signal group chat of Trump administration officials discussing plans for an imminent military strike on the Houthis in Yemen.
