The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has reaffirmed the country’s dedication to the implementation of agreements reached with China during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit in September 2024.
Tuggar revealed this development during discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, whom he hosted in Abuja today.
He stated that the agreement serves as a foundation for enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, and infrastructure.
Recall that, From September 1 to 6, 2024, Tinubu paid his first visit to China since he assumed office and also attended the 2024 Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, accompanied by ministers, state governors, and entrepreneurs.
The President’s visit, which marked a milestone in bilateral relations, saw the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding, now at various stages of implementation.
Tugger highlighted that these MOUs formalized the upgrade of the relationship between Nigeria and China from a strategic partnership to a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at fostering closer collaboration and delivering tangible benefits to both nations
