Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has broken his silence, declaring that his political battles will not define him and insisting that “no king lives forever.”
Speaking during a visit to Bonny, Fubara addressed supporters and traditional leaders amid the ongoing political crisis in the state. Despite his suspension, he remained defiant and confident of eventual vindication.
“My victory will come back to me at the end of the day,” Fubara said, maintaining that he has not lost anything. “When you know that what you are doing is right, and you’re sure that in 25 to 30 years, if placed in any box and you’re asked a question, you can defend your actions — that’s what makes you a man.”
The embattled governor reflected on the nature of power and leadership, suggesting that those in authority should focus on legacies rather than control. “No authority lasts forever. What is important is that during the time you reigned, I wished you did wonderful things that will speak forever.”
