A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has firmly denied allegations that she received a bribe to support Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who recently accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Ezekwesili, a vocal advocate for justice in the case, had called for Akpabio to step aside to allow for an impartial investigation into the claims made by the Kogi Central lawmaker.
She has also demanded that the senator’s petition be taken seriously and investigated without bias.
Recall that the controversy escalated last Thursday when Sandra Duru, a UK-based activist popularly known as Professor Mgbeke, alleged that Akpoti-Uduaghan fabricated the claims against Akpabio. Duru further claimed that the senator told her Ezekwesili had been financially induced to publicly support the allegations.
In a response, Ezekwesili dismissed the claims as false and defamatory.
