A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken a swipe at the emerging opposition coalition aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, saying it is made up mostly of “irrelevant” fifigures.I

n a Facebook post on Wednesday, the chieftain, Joe Igbokwe claimed that only “one or two real men” are part of the alliance, while the rest, according to him, are lacking in political value and capacity.

“When I look at the composition of the so-called coalition, I see one or two that are real men,” Igbokwe wrote. “Other members are unknown. They have nothing to bring to the table — no skill, no energy, no resources, no charisma, no history, no character, etc.”

The APC loyalist, known for his staunch defense of the Tinubu administration, did not name the individuals he considered to be “real men,” nor did he specify who he believed to be lacking.

Reports indicate that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are among key opposition figures involved in coalition talks to challenge the ruling party in the next election cycle.
