Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered a reduction of the 24-hour curfew imposed on Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin following recent communal clashes.

In a statement, Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, announced that the curfew will now run from 2 pm to 7 am daily, starting Friday, March 28, 2025. The revised curfew will remain in effect indefinitely until further notice.

The decision comes after violent clashes over a long-standing land dispute escalated last week, resulting in the destruction of property in Ifon and Ilobu, located in Orolu and Irepodun Local Government Areas.

Governor Adeleke said the adjustment aims to ease the hardship on residents while allowing them to meet essential needs. Despite a decrease in violence, the governor condemned reports of another fatality and confirmed that the police have arrested a suspect linked to the incident.

Security agencies remain on high alert as efforts to restore peace in the affected communities continue.
