The Oyo State House of Assembly has suspended Emmanuel Adedokun, Chairman of Saki East Local Government Area, over allegations of gross misconduct.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, was announced during Tuesday’s plenary session following a petition submitted by 11 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council.

According to the petitioners, Adedokun had repeatedly defied directives from Governor Seyi Makinde since assuming office.

In his absence, the Assembly has directed Vice Chairman Razaq Adeyemi to take over as Acting Chairman, while the council’s Secretary will step into the role of Acting Vice Chairman.

This interim arrangement will remain in place while the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters conducts a thorough investigation into the allegations.
