As part of efforts to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Oyo State Police Command has deployed officers to key locations across the state’s 33 local government areas.

Commissioner of Police, CP Johnson Adenola, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Ibadan. He said the command has established a comprehensive security strategy to safeguard worship centres, public spaces, critical infrastructure, correctional facilities, media houses, major roads, and the state’s entry and exit points.

According to the statement, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team leaders have been directed to adopt a proactive, intelligence-led approach. This includes increased mobile patrols, surveillance operations, strategic searches, and targeted interventions aimed at deterring crime and maintaining order.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the festivities and beyond.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity via the Oyo State Call Response Centre (615) or the Police Control Room on 08081768614, 09054133071, or 09061299291.
