Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, has expressed deep concern over what he described as the growing disconnect between Nigeria’s political leaders and the citizens they are meant to serve.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Adeyemi criticised politicians for their obsession with power retention, often at the expense of the people’s welfare.
“The fear of losing power drives many leaders to defect between political parties,” he said. “Some have clearly lost touch with the plight of the poor; they lack empathy and compassion.”
Adeyemi stressed the need to create an enabling environment for good governance, urging leaders to refocus on policies that prioritize the well-being of the people over political survival.
