The Lagos State Police Command has exposed a troubling new form of kidnapping, referred to as “Constructive Kidnapping.”
In this scheme, unsuspecting women are lured by individuals posing as internet friends or potential lovers, only to be kidnapped.
The command has already rescued 16 victims from various areas of Lagos who had fallen prey to this tactic.
According to Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Ishola, the kidnappers’ methods have proven to be both devious and dangerous. In another case, a 15-year-old girl was arrested after orchestrating a fake kidnapping plot with her boyfriend, aiming to extort ransom from her parents.
