US President, Donald Trump has announced exemptions for smartphones, computers, and select electronic devices from its sweeping tariffs — including the steep 125% levy on Chinese imports.

According to a notice from US Customs and Border Protection, these products will not be subject to either the 10% global tariff previously imposed on most countries or the heftier import tax targeting China.

The move represents the first major concession in the ongoing US-China trade war. A prominent trade analyst has called the development a “game-changer,” potentially signaling a recalibration of the administration’s aggressive tariff strategy.

Speaking aboard Air Force One en route to Miami, President Trump hinted at more announcements to come. “We’ll be very specific,” he told reporters. “But we’re taking in a lot of money. As a country, we’re taking in a lot of money.”
