Discontent within the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has escalated, with several party members set to stage a major protest today (Tuesday) at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, and in the Somolu area.

The protest coincides with the final deadline set by the APC Appeal Committee for aggrieved aspirants to submit their petitions over the controversial local government chairmanship primaries held last Saturday.

Led by Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro (SAN), the Appeal Committee was formed in response to widespread dissatisfaction over the conduct and outcome of the primaries. The exercise, held at the party’s Ikeja headquarters, was marred by accusations of manipulation, lack of transparency, and the alleged imposition of candidates.

The primaries were conducted to select candidates for the upcoming July 12 local government elections, covering 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas across the state.
