At least 51 people, including 15 children, have lost their lives in the devastating flash floods that swept through central Texas, with dozens still unaccounted for.

Among the missing are 27 girls from Camp Mystic, a Christian youth camp located along the banks of the Guadalupe River.

Reports say hundreds of emergency responders are combing through debris and flood-hit areas in a massive search and rescue operation. Also, drone footage from Georgetown reveals the extent of the destruction, collapsed buildings, overturned vehicles, and submerged homes—as the full impact of the flood begins to unfold.

Tragic details are beginning to emerge about the victims, including children as young as eight who were caught in the sudden rush of water. The Guadalupe River, normally calm in summer, surged nearly 30 feet within 45 minutes, turning a peaceful camp setting into a deadly disaster zone.

Reaction from officials has been swift. Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that federal assistance is on its way, while President Donald Trump called the event “shocking” and “terrible.”
