President Bola Tinubu has called on African leaders to prioritize solving the continent’s challenges rather than seeking validation from the Western world.

He made this statement today during the inauguration of Ghana’s new president, John Dramani Mahama, where he served as a special guest.

In his speech, Tinubu admonished leaders to focus on impactful governance rather than playing to the gallery.

“African leaders have a lot to prove for themselves and their people, not for the Western world,” he said, highlighting the importance of addressing the continent’s pressing issues.

Tinubu urged African nations to unite as brothers to overcome barriers and raise the continent above existing limitations. He noted that collaboration and shared goals are essential for achieving sustainable progress and prosperity.

The Nigerian president’s remarks come at a time when the continent is grappling with economic, political, and social challenges, underscoring the need for visionary leadership and solidarity among African nations.

The ceremony marked a new chapter for Ghana under Mahama’s leadership, with Tinubu’s message serving as a call to action for all African leaders to rise above external pressures and prioritize the welfare of their citizens.
