As President Bola Tinubu approaches his second year in office, the Central Results Delivery and Coordination Unit (CDCU) is finalizing a new round of ministerial performance scorecards, The PUNCH has learned.
Sources within the Presidency confirmed on Tuesday that the evaluations covering the first quarter of 2025 are being prepared for submission ahead of Tinubu’s May 29 mid-term milestone. The assessments are expected to offer a clear picture of how ministries have fared so far in delivering on the administration’s agenda.
“There’s renewed pressure on ministries, especially those with underwhelming results. The President wants to see measurable outcomes,” a senior aide revealed.
The CDCU, which reports directly to the Presidency, is charged with quarterly monitoring of ministries. Its current review is based on a detailed verification process that began after ministers submitted their Q1 performance evidence to a secure portal in April.
Since then, a team led by CDCU Head, Hadiza Bala-Usman, has been examining the documents and cross-referencing them with the performance bonds signed by ministers during the October 2023 cabinet retreat. Each ministry is being graded against its stated deliverables and timelines.
