A tragic accident in Lagos has left four soldiers feared dead and several others injured after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them during their routine road jog outside Myoung Barracks in Shomolu. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday when a speeding Toyota vehicle veered off course and plowed into the group.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as the car, carrying three young men, raced down the road before colliding with the soldiers. Priscilla, a resident of the area, recounted that the driver showed no signs of slowing down before the devastating impact. The force of the crash left several soldiers critically injured, with some reportedly dying on the spot.
In the immediate aftermath, tension erupted as enraged onlookers and soldiers confronted the suspects. The three young men attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended. Their vehicle was vandalized, and one of them was reportedly stabbed during the altercation.
