Nigeria’s gospel music and evangelism community is in mourning following the tragic deaths of four popular ministers, including the widely revered Evangelist Ayodeji David, known as Kekere Jesu.
The fatal accident occurred along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State over the weekend.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident in a statement released Monday by Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer, Florence Okupe. According to the report, the accident, which involved multiple vehicles, resulted in over 24 fatalities, with the four ministers among those who died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Evangelist Ayodeji David (Kekere Jesu), Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina. Preliminary investigations by the FRSC attributed the accident to overspeeding and poor visibility.
Kekere Jesu was en route to a ministry assignment at the time of the crash. Known for his passionate street preaching, youth outreach, and social media evangelism, his sudden death has left a void in the hearts of many admirers and fellow believers.
Tributes have poured in across social media platforms.
The Christian community and many Nigerians continue to mourn this devastating loss, remembering the ministers for their dedication, fervor, and commitment to spreading the gospel, especially in rural communities.
